Kecskemétfilm Ltd. is an animation film studio which has been in continuous operation since 1971. Over the course of 55 years, we have been given numerous international awards and acknowledgments, and we have made nearly 500 films. The best-known and longest running film series of the studio is the “Hungarian Folk Tales” series (www.magyarnepmesek.eu), which consists of 100 episodes.
In addition to the original works, we have participated in the making of numerous international productions, three of which were later nominated for an Oscar: The Secret of Kells (directed by Tomm Moore, Nora Twomey), Chico and Rita (directed by Fernando Trueba, Javier Mariscal, Tono Errando), and The Red Turtle (directed by Michaël Dudok de Wit).
In 2008, we extended our portfolio and started our 3D workshop.
Kecskemétfilm is also the founder and principal organiser of the international Kecskemét Animation Film Festival (KAFF) which has been held since 1985 (www.kaff.hu).
